Ambient Cure Services in the Pacific Northwest

Insta-Pipe - Ambient Cure

There are many kinds of different CIPP materials available on the market. The most common you’re likely to find requires heat in order to get the epoxy to set. This is used for larger diameter pipes, like your mainline. While this method is effective at what it does, it does cost more and requires large amounts of water. That’s why ambient cure is available.

Insta-Pipe offers ambient cure CIPP services throughout Washington & Oregon. If you’re curious about ambient cure CIPP, or would like to schedule an appointment, contact us today. We’ll give your pipe the perfect CIPP solution for its needs.

What about HammerHead Bluelight?

The HammerHead Bluelight system is up to 5x faster than standard ambient cure systems, and Insta-Pipe is the only company in the region with access to HammerHead. If you would like to know more, you can speak with one of our experts who would be more than happy to help, or you can learn more on the HammerHead website by clicking here.

What is Ambient Cure CIPP?

Ambient cure CIPP uses a type of epoxy that does not require heat or much extra equipment. Because of this, though, it is limited to smaller and shorter pipes. The ambient cure is applied in much the same way as any other kind, with the resin mixture poured into an applicator and then pushed through the pipe to sit for a few hours. The difference is that ambient cure epoxy cures much faster than the standard mixture. Rather than taking 4–6 hours for a complete cure, the ambient cure variety typically only takes 2–3.

When Ambient CIPP is Best Used

Ambient cure CIPP is best used if and when these three criteria are met:

  • Short Pipes: Shorter pipes are ideal for ambient cure CIPP, as applying it over a larger area causes problems with both the cure time and the structural integrity of the epoxy. If you just need a spot repair, or a smaller lateral line sheathed, then ambient cure might be a good option for you.
  • Small Diameter Pipes: Very similar to the point above. The less surface area there is to worry about, the better this type of CIPP will end up performing.
  • Cost Effectiveness is a Priority: This is not "the cheap option" in terms of inferior quality. However, it is much more cost effective in areas where it can be applied than to use a more demanding epoxy. Ambient cure CIPP is beneficial for its extreme cost effectiveness, and the fact that it can be implemented quickly.

Of course, like all CIPP solutions it is best to consult with a professional before deciding on your own that you need ambient cure CIPP. The best thing to do is to have the line in–question professionally inspected. Your technician will be able to tell whether or not ambient cure CIPP is the best option for your needs.
