Any trained professional with the right experience in a field knows there is never only one way to do a task. No one-size-fits-all solution. The best professionals have multiple tools and techniques available, and they know when to apply one or the other.
This is why you only want to hire an experienced piping contractor in Tacoma, WA, to handle your water line, pipeline, and other exterior pipe repairs and replacements. We are not only experienced and have a full range of tools, but we handle service for buildings of all sizes. Whether you own a single-family home or operate a large industrial facility, we have the equipment and technicians who can do the job right.
Ambient Cure—How It Differs From Other Methods
You don’t actually need to know any of the details about the service we provide and the technologies we use when you need piping help. We take care of it all so you don’t have to worry about it. But we can also relieve some of your concerns with explanations about what we’re doing and help if you need to make any choices regarding what work we do.
So you likely don’t know what ambient cure is, or what it’s even an alternative to. A short explanation:
- CIPP (Cured In Place Piping) is a piece of piping pushed into a damaged pipe laterally (minimal digging required) and then seals into the pipe with epoxy, which closes up breaks and leaks.
- Standard CIPP uses heat to get the epoxy to set. This is effective on pipelines with large diameters, such as the main sewer line or main water line for a commercial or industrial facility.
- Ambient Cure is a method that requires less heat and less equipment and is more suited to smaller pipes or short distances of piping. It’s similar to the conventional CIPP with a mixture of resin pushed through the pipe. But ambient cure epoxy cures much faster than the mixture used for standard CIPP, curing in around half that time: two to three hours rather than four to six.
If Ambient Cure Is Faster, Why Not Just Use That?
Because, as we mentioned above, ambient cure is one tool among many. It isn’t suitable for use in every situation. The faster curing doesn’t work as well for larger and longer pipes. When we’re on a job, the first part of handling piping repairs is to examine the pipe and decide which of the methods available to us will be 1) effective, 2) fast, 3) the least equipment and labor-intensive. These have to balance out so you end up with the right results and no unnecessary charges. We’ll use inspection equipment such as push-cams to examine your pipe from the inside to help us make the choice that meets your needs.
No matter what service we end up using to provide piping repairs for your home, business, or facility, we’ll do the job right. We stand behind that: we offer a one-year guarantee on products and labor for most projects.
