How Do Modern Piping Services Perform Sewer Repairs?

Monday, October 8th, 2018

industrial-pipesThe sewer line is a critical stretch of piping for a building, no matter the size or type of building. Homes, businesses, and industrial facilities need to have an undamaged and unobstructed sewer pipeline in order to function effectively and hygienically.

But no sewer line is invincible. Construction, shifts in the earth, corrosion from chemicals, and plain old aging can all lead to a sewer pipe that needs repairs. The job obviously requires professionals—no amateur can access a buried sewer line or even have the slightest idea how to repair it if they could. But some professional piping service contractors still use outdated methods of pipe repair involving massive amounts of digging equipment to excavate down to the sewer line. We’d like to explain the modern way we handle sewer repair work.

This is what many people do, whether they’re homeowners or business owners. But it’s not the best way to take care of repairs for older pipes. You don’t need a “plumber,” somebody who mostly works with indoor pipes, when it comes to working on a sewer or water main. What to Do for Sewer Pipes When They’re Too Far Gone

Monday, August 13th, 2018

pipe-decaySewer lines are designed to last for as long as possible, but no sewer line can last for an eternity. Older pipes made from cast iron or galvanized steel will decay from corrosion eventually, and even modern plastic pipes and copper are susceptible to damage.

Sewer lines can be repaired through point repair procedures when the damage is limited to a small area. We handle this job by sending a carrier unit into the pipe that then seals with epoxy mixtures of resin and fiberglass to the interior of the damaged sewer line to fix it. This is an example of our trenchless technology at work: there’s no need to do any digging to expose the sewer line to make repairs. This speeds up the job and leaves behind little disruption to the property.

But if a sewer line is decayed too much, it will either need an extensive patching along its length or a complete replacement. You can also trust us with these jobs, since trenchless technology is ideally suited to such large-scale projects.

Can All Contractors Offer Sewer Pipe Lining?

Monday, July 30th, 2018

question-mark-badgeYour home, business, or facility almost certainly has a sewer line to connect it to the municipal sewer system. Keeping this line in good repair is essential—and if it should suffer from cracks and leaks, the best way to have it fixed is with sewer pipe lining from a professional contractor.

Sewer pipe lining is the best way to handle repairs for a sewer line, or improvements to an older line to prevent future repairs. The job doesn’t require digging to expose the sewer line. Instead, the contractors slide a liner, also called a carrier pipe into the sewer line and use hydraulics to draw and set it into place. The carrier pipe is then inflated to fill up the old pipe and create a new lining on the interior that repairs the sewer line. This work not only fixes problems from leaks, cracks, and tree roots, it improves flow for high efficiency. It also takes care of all leaks with a single repair, rather than trying to patch up multiple cracks.

What is Ambient Cure?

Monday, June 18th, 2018

rusty-pipe-burst-leakIf you have a sewer line which is leaking or structurally unstable, you may be steeling yourself for a big portion of your yard to be dug up to replace it. This doesn’t, however, have to be the case. With the development of cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) techniques in the 1970s, it’s possible to rehabilitate pipes from the inside out. That means your underground pipes can now be fixed without requiring any excavation. There are several different CIPP processes, and we’ll discuss the benefits of the ambient cure method below.

Piping Services Can Repair Sewer Leaks

Monday, May 7th, 2018

sewer-pipe-trenchlessFew plumbing problems are more serious than a leak in your sewer line, which can create huge issues for your home. In and of themselves, there’s nothing about them that’s different from an indoor piping leak. Sewer lines, however, are located underground, which makes reaching them a terrible chore. And because they remove wastewater from your entire home, a problem with them is going to affect almost every aspect of your life.

The good news is that piping services can repair sewer leaks with a lot less time and effort than it used to take. Not only does that mean completing the task in a fraction of the time and cost that it once did, but it can fix the problem just as well, if not better than ever. Here’s a little look at how modern technology has revolutionized piping services.

Call Professional Piping Services for Slip Lining Repairs

Monday, April 23rd, 2018

sewer-pipe-trenchlessProblems with your outdoor pipes can be a tough proposition for a number of reasons. They’re buried underground in most cases, and getting to them to repair a leak can take a long time. Or at least it used to. In the past, you needed to rent construction equipment and hire extra workers to unearth the pipe, repair the leak and bury it again.  (It can be difficult in the best of times, and our frequently rainy weather doesn’t make the process any easier.)
