The Sectional Point Repair System provides a structural repair without digging the existing pipeline or lining the entire pipeline. Pipeline video inspection has shown only 6% of the manhole to manhole sewer main needs repair. This equals 18 feet of a 300 foot sewer pipeline.
In the past 5 years there has been an increase in municipal and industrial collection system owners utilizing sectional point repairs in place of digging or lining the entire pipeline. This change has saved the municipal government agency hundreds of thousands of dollars and enabled them to repair multiple areas without additional funding.
Pipe made of Clay, Cast, PVC, Wood, etc… can now be structurally repaired in hours without disruption to traffic or sewer flow.
The sectional point repairs are manufactured in a complete kit form. Each kit is sized to suit the diameter, length, and external loads. This process involves attaching the sectional point repair to a specialized bladder, then positioning the bladder over the damaged area inside the host pipe.
The bladder is then inflated and held in place until the thermo-setting resin is cured. Access points are required through upstream and downstream manholes. Prior to installation of the sectional point repair, the host pipe is cleaned and free of any foreign objects. This will allow adhesion to the host pipe material with the sectional point repair system.

The Perma-Liner Sectional Repairs can be installed in pipe diameters from 6 inches (152.4 mm) to 54 inches (1371.6 mm) in diameter and lengths from 2 feet (0.6096m) up to 30 feet (9.1440m). If a sectional point repair is positioned over a lateral junction, the junction can be re-opened with a specialized robotic cutter after the pipe is lined.
The Point Repair forms a structural, permanent waterproof repair which seals all types of pipe against infiltration and exfiltration. The finished repair is stronger than the original pipe. This repair has a superior bond to the existing pipe equally in wet or dry conditions and because the resin is 100% solids, there is no shrinkage and therefore no annular space between the pipe and repair that could cause leakage. The repair system can be used equally well in warm or cold climates.
The Sectional Point Repair System materials are tested to meet Specification F1216 for Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP). This Specification requires our materials to be tested for a minimum design life of 50 years. Our Perma-Liner™ Sectional Point Repair testing results exceed these specifications!
Our certified installers repair pipelines throughout the Greater North West with our Sectional Point Repair System. Our Installers have the ability to structurally repair sewer pipelines from 6 ” to 54” diameter and as long as 30’. Larger diameters and longer lengths can be manufactured to meet your needs.
Sectional Point Repair materials consist of an inner liner with a PU coating and a fiberglass/felt mat reinforcement. A proprietary epoxy resin is formulated and applied to the inner liner. Epoxy resin is also introduced to the fiberglass/felt mat. The inner liner and fiberglass/felt mat become one with the impregnation of the epoxy resin.
The end result is a structural repair that exceeds ASTM F1216 Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) Specifications.
The new repair is actually stronger then the existing host pipe and can act as a stand alone pipe if the existing host pipe continues to fail.
Insta-Pipe’s unique materials, application and installation procedures make for a perfect seamless, joint less repair with smooth tapered ends at the beginning and end of the repair.
