Lateral Pipe Lining: CIPP - Cured in Place PipE

Intsa-Pipe Lateral Service TruckNow you can rehabilitate existing building service pipelines in diameters from 2" to 8" in less then a day and in most cases less then 5 hours! This "true" inversion method allows the lateral lining materials to negotiate 22's, 45's and sweeping 90's with ease. Our patent liner material allows our installers to line through 4" - 6" transitions without changing the structural properties of the liner.

Only Perma-Lateral™ liner materials have a reinforced scrim to eliminate stretch during the inversion process. The reinforcement scrim allows the liner to invert smoothly through the existing pipeline while preventing the liner from stretching. Our installers are able to line an existing pipeline without inverting into city sewer mains.

The Inversion Lining System / Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) is the only system and materials to be approved for lining existing 2" to 8" diameter pipelines and provides non-stretch lining materials. The inversion liner allows our installers to invert the liner through the existing building sewer pipeline to the city main sewer connection without stretching into the city sewer main. Normal felt liners without the scrim can stretch into the city sewer main and cause blockages that require emergency digging and/or robotic cutting devices.

Lateral Lining System - Installation Process

  • The damaged pipe is cleaned and inspected.
  • A measurement is then taken so the pipe liner material can be cut to length.
  • The 100% epoxy resin is then mixed and poured into the liner material impregnating it.
  • The pipe liner is then loaded into the launching unit.
  • Then the pipe liner is inserted into the pipe through an inversion process that utilizes air pressure.
  • This literally turns the pipe liner material inside out which allows the resin to bond with the host pipe.
  • The resin cures within 3 hours.
  • The pipe is put back into service for up to 50 years.
Step 4The material is measured and cut onsite.
Step 3The formulated resin is measured and mixed.
Step 2The resin is poured into the liner evenly.
Step 1The liner is loaded into the inverter.

Once the new pipe installation is complete, it is simply connected to the existing system. This code-approved and tested pipe is a completely root-proof, leak-proof, chemical and acid resistant pipe, with a minimum life span of 50 years!

Certified and Approved Materials!
Insta-Pipe supplies its customers only certified third party tested and approved lining materials. Our scrim reinforced liner and 2-part formulated epoxy resin ensures your project is in accordance with city and state specifications. ASTM F1216 specifications require a minimum life expectancy of 50 years…our certified third party testing provides life expectancy 70 years plus!

The inversion liner materials consist of two layers of flexible needled felt and one layer of our scrim reinforcement, capable of carrying resin, withstanding installation pressures and curing temperatures. The material is designed to stretch in order to fit irregular pipe sections and negotiate 22's, 45's and sweeping 90° bends in all types of pipe materials.

The outside layer of the tube is coated with a 2 mil thick Polyvinyl Chloride finish. The tube is fabricated to a size that when installed will expand and tightly fit the internal circumference and length of the original conduit.
Our Transition Materials are made to order per each project. The materials can be manufactured to conform to transitions of 3" to 4", 4" to 5", and 4" to 6" pipelines. The materials are manufactured from the same materials used in single sized pipelines.

The thermal bonding process insures the best seam in the industry. Our seam is subject to a consistent dwell time, pressure and temperature. The automated process insures a stronger seam and more pipe flexibility. Competition uses manual flame bonding sealing techniques, which are subject to human error. Dwell time, temperature, pressure and continuous seaming are prone to failures when subject to potential human error. Manual flame bonding also adds stiffness, which reduces flexibility and creates inversion resistance.

Lateral Lining System - Equipment

Our pipe lining system equipment is proven worldwide to meet your expectations in all applications and is a direct reflection of experience and dedication behind the workings at Insta-Pipe.

Our lateral lining air inversion units are made of pressure tested Aluminum with a site glass opening access port. Each inversion unit is attached to a removable 4 wheel dolly stand for easy transitions.

The standard inversion unit is designed for easy access and holds approximate 145 feet. The Standard unit can invert 2" to 8" diameters.

The Mini-Verter is designed for easy access into basements and confined spaces. While the Mini-Verter is compact, the unit can invert 50 feet of lining material in one application.

The inversion process requires an inversion head. Each inversion head is sized to fit liner materials. This will eliminate loss of air pressure during the inversion process. The inversion heads and caps are made of aluminum.

Insta-Pipe understands the importance of having the right tools and equipment on each job site. Your time is valuable…let an Insta-Pipe technician assist your needs!
